Happy New Year, ya'll!

My memory is that this thread started with a question about historically-early use of diamond cutouts in lugs.

Not being a card player (or for whatever other reason), I didn't pay much attention. But, yesterday I took the '49 Raleigh Lenton Clubman out for its first ride since I got it. Whaddaknow, but the head lugs and seat lug each have a diamond cut in. I guess it's a diamond. Perhaps more a cross between an arrowhead and a diamond, or a diamond whose end pointing to the tube being joined is stretched out to be just a bit longer than the other end.

So, that's today's really unimportant factoid to help keep you from going bonkers in front of the TV screen... :-)

Harvey Sachs mcLean va (About the Lenton I'll have more to say another day; suffice it to say now that I've not yet fallen head-over-heels in love with its ride yet).
