Guys, I really do not know how I sent the digest back to classicrendezvous. My digest arrived as a forwarded copy this morning, I know not why, but I hit a send instead of the delete and am truly sorry.
Classic content and pertinent to the old frame/new parts ideas of Sheldon: Yesterday, in the unseasonably warm and calm weather, I took out the 1980 Nishiki Cresta with some updates and period-correct stuff like the Sugino AT (now a compact double 50-34), very early Wheelsmith-built Mavic rims with Specialized hubs (now with 8 speed FW), along with newer Sora 8 speed brifters with XTR rear derailleur and my usual cockpit of modern grooved saddle with Salsa Poco bars. I use the older frame as my winter bike because it easily fits Continental 700x37s and can still be fully fendered and racked!
Happy new year,
Ken Wehrenberg, Hermann, MO
