Yes, 1976...

By 1976-77, here in Southern California, if bikes were your life, Masi was out and we had moved on to the next great thing, which would be the U.S. custom frame builders. In my case it was Mario Confente. Of course he was replaced at his death in 1979 by the next, next great thing.

Of course here in 2005, we are all moving backwards trying to find all those previous next great things to recondition, refurbish and ride; to re-experience that old magic all over again!
