Subject: [CR]Davis Sewing machine track bike is it worth $800

A friend is selling a track bike. It has wood rims, track bars with leather grips on the ends of the bars. It appears to be all original except for possibly the saddle which looks more like a pre war cruiser saddle with the big loop spring under the nose. Also, I believe someone tried to put modern sew ups on the wheels. One rim has about an inch crack the other is slightly warped around the stem hole. The paint is good except for the down tube where a good portion of it is missing. No rust though. Headbadge says davis sewing machine co. or something like that. The front fork is not slotted, it has to be spread to get the wheel on.

This may not be much to go on but these are all the details I have at the moment. Any help would be appreciated. He's asking 800.00, is this worth it?

thanks
