Ahh, so. Thanks for that bit of info, Chuck. I asked because I have yet to see in person an old Cinelli that is complete with all these little details. Some day....

Yes, the Italian bikes I've seen with oil ports (located in the middle back of the head tube and the top left side of the bottom bracket shell) had a chromed panhead screw to close the port; the drain hole at the bottom of the bottom bracket was closed with a small, chromed hexhead bolt.

The British bikes I've seen with oil ports (located in the lower left side of the head lug and top left side of the bottom bracket shell) had Tecalmit oil port nipples. I've used oil cups with flip tops (pirated from English hubs) on a couple of my bikes since I don't have a Tecalmit oil injector.

There is a common misconception among many the these are grease ports instead of oil ports.
