Well I freely admit to bidding against Ray on the same Viscount/Lambert crankset, driving the price up to an astounding $17.25 before letting it go for so something like $17.45. Plus I have won some small auctions lately for some French bicycle bits.
But that just makes me a kook. I imagine, though, that the original email refers to the same bidder I also encouter - he of the Harry Potteresque eBay ID and Kauzoesque bidding proclivities. I suspect he just likes bicyles immensely and is also perhaps a broker. If this is the guy, he was recently called a "mighty bidder" on the iBob list. They do exist in eBay-land.
