2005 Spray Finishing Technology Workshops

February 16-18, May 18-20, September 7-9, & November 16-18, 2005

Description: The purpose of this three-day intensive workshop is to familiarize participants with the equipment, systems and techniques of spray finishing. Topics include surface preparation, equipment types, evaluation, and spray application associated with industrial finishing. The latest technologies are explored. Each student has ample opportunity for hands-on application of coatings with several types of spray tools. See complete daily instructional content outline below.

Meeting hours: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm daily.

Location: The workshop is held at the ITW Ransburg Training Center, Toledo, Ohio, easily reached by air to Toledo or Detroit, or by car via the Ohio Turnpike or Interstate 75. Start-up information, map, hotel and transportation details will be provided to all participants.

Credit: The workshop is non-credit. Owens Community College awards two (2) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to participants upon successful completion of the workshop.

Workshop Fee: $545.00 includes all instructional materials, daily lunches, and lab supplies.

Lodging: A special lodging package is available to workshop participants at the Clarion Hotel-Westgate. The rate for rooms reserved at least 18 days before the workshop start date is $67.00 per day plus tax. Phone 419-535-7070 and refer to the DeVilbiss/Binks workshop package plan when making reservations. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the workshop site.

Safety: A charcoal cartridge-style respirator and safety glasses must be worn during each hands-on session of the workshop. Participants may bring a proper respirator or purchase a DeVilbiss MSP-521 on site for $40 (cash or check only). Safety glasses are also available. In this workshop you will be in brief contact with common finishing materials and solvents. If you have a potential health problem associated with contact with these materials or the wearing of a respirator, you should consult with a physician before you register.

Cancellation/Transfer/Refund Policy: Refunds for cancellation or transfer to a later workshop will be provided according to the following policy. Companies may substitute participants without penalty.
