French National Champion Georges Speicher (Alcyon) on his way to "winning" the 1936 Paris-Roubaix. The judges awarded him the win in a close sprint against Belgium's Romain Maes, but photos would prove that Maes had actually beaten Speicher by half a wheel. The other rider visible in this image is Speicher's teammate Romain Gijssels. From "Match l'Intransigeant" No.509, 14 April 1936.
