Simplex licensed/produced freewheels and derailleurs in Italy in the later 40's ...from the Champion du Monde to the stuff Coppi rode before Tullio lured him away.

Hi,

I just got a simplex freewheel. unlike my others of a similar type and with a similar body, this one has a stamp on the back that says, "Made in Italy". What is the deal with this stamp ?? It's kind of like getting some campagnolo parts and they are stamped "Made in Belgium" ?!?!? Did simplex contract with regina or another italian freewheel maker for later production ??
