There was a Grand Prix and a Super Grand Prix. More steel in the cheaper Grand Prix, most notably the rims. You got bar end shifters on the SGP with Raleigh branded Suntour deraillers, not a bad setup.

My SGP has been converted to a modern(?) day club bike losing all the derailleur bits in favor of a S-A hub. It has Raleigh threaded BB and headset btw; which was a bonus in being able to use other Raleigh spec parts for the build. see: http://retroraleighs.com/catalogs/Raleigh-Catalog-1978.pdf
