I know some people hang a wine cork from a saddle rail. What is the story on this? Isn't it noisy?
I seem to recall that it is some kind of good luck talisman. Are there others?
When I did a 5 day mountain bike trip on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon my wife gave me a piece of cloth on which was printed "Every journey is a blessing." I tucked it into my spare tube bag. Two of my friends broke chains, and one crashed, destroying his front wheel. I had no problems. I wouldn't dream of ascribing my good fortune to a piece of cloth, but these are the facts. Admittedly I cannot recall whether I had it with me when I was struck by a car, although it would make a better story if it turned out that I had left it at home that morning.
