Most of my TA pedals don't yet have a lot of miles on them, so I can't comment on servicing, but the quills are most definitely wider than, for example, a Campy NR road or a Lyotard 45D, which is a big advantage if you have wide feet or use touring shoes a lot. Despite this, I still prefer the track version of the TA pedals, which is fairly easily available. One thing I can say about servicing is that the cage plates are easily replaceable. Of course, as we all know, replaceable plates are only useful if the plates are actually available. Since the pedals are still being made, I assume the plate are available now, so it migh be good to buy a few replacement plates for future use.
