Re: [CR]team miyata frame question

(Example: Production Builders:Cinelli:Laser)

Josh Adler asked about his Miyata Pro/Team: I have a question about the frame-- engraved on the top of the seatstays, where they join the seat tube, are the letters PR and an M with a circle around it. can anyone tell me what this refers to?

My understanding is that it is RRm, standing for Road Racing Miyata. Makes sense to me anyway, but I'm betting I'm wrong on this one! I have one of those bikes too. Mine is a Professional model with the shift levers on the side, not top of the downtube. Wonderful riding bike with a very interesting history. Listmember J.D. Edwards sent his cherished Pinarello to a painter in Colorado (Colo Springs?) in the 90s. J.D. got a call one day that the painter was standing in a pickup truck at a corner selling frames out of the back. He got a friend to get the police to help. The friend was allowed to go to the shop to see if he could find J.D.'s Pinarello. He found the Miyata with the letters that "looked like" the engraving from a Pinarello seatstay cap. J.D. was distraught and didn't want the frame, so I got it from him. Had it painted Turquoise. My daughter wanted to play around with painting the engraving, so I now have what I call my New Mexico bike--turquoise with red "everything" as accents. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
