Further to Ted Baer's question on balance and the answers he has received on list leads me to point out two possible reasons that have been mentioned.

Firstly the front fork ends may wanting checking for alignment as this can lead to pulling to one side .This is easily checked by holding a steel ruler on its edge across the crown and eyeing down to the fork ends where if correct should show them to be level. Also not mentioned is the possibility of the headset slightly worn or either adjusted too tight or the reverse of an adjustment too loose. This in my opinion is the most common cause steering problems which can if not rectified cause crashes.

Or maybe as one member I believe suggested leave well alone after all who wants to ride with no hands on bars ,this is for the few who are good enough to cross the winning line !
