First a question,
Anybody have any information on rebuilding Hi-E hubs? I've got a couple pair and need to replace a few bearings. Anybody know what became of Hi-E?
By way of introduction, I've been painting bikes for 20 years or so,
Grew up hanging around the basement at Cycle Craft (during the years my dad owned it)
Current bikes and projects include........
late '70s early '80s Cuevas, original paint, "mostly" period components, (would like to nail down the date on this frame, may get to go to NYC in the next few months, perhaps a field trip or two)
mid '80s Enik, hand built SL, dt replaced with SP by Tim Paterek, repaint by me, all MAVIC equipt, (seeking an original chromed steel fork)
late '50s early '60s Higgins ultralight trike, restoration project, (need decals and a head badge, correct bars, maybe rims)
mid '70s Follis tandem, paint done, now stripping, getting ready for spring rides........
77 Paramount track bike, restored by me,
mid '70s ItalVega, columbus tubing decal, stamped drop-outs no derailleur hanger, setting up as a single speed commuter, (seeking an original chrome fork)
If you think you might have any of those goodies or can supply any information let me know and I'll get you the serial numbers, photos or whatever else is needed.
