Subject: [CR]Replacing bearings on HiE hubs.

Eugene Powell asked:

Anybody have any information on rebuilding Hi-E hubs? I've got a couple pair and need to replace a few bearings. Anybody know what became of Hi-E? (and I snipped the rest). ++++++++++++++++++ The good news is that the end caps, which include the flanges and spoke holes, are press fitted into place (according to my Feb. 1979 spec sheet). The bad news is that you have to unlace the wheels to pull off the caps and replace the bearings. The worse news is that Hi-E recommend using an arbor press for the work, as all the tolerances are quite tight.

Welcome aboard, sir!
