We all know schwinn Fillit brased their frames--but early 40s frames were electro welded then leaded to give the schwinn look. I think what Richard means is the solder would melt out(and the frame fall apart) as the brasing is a higher temp process.Maybe they were brased then soldered to give the smooth look. sam lingo,pleasanton tx
