Ok now I have to weigh in with my 4th and final post of the day.

If you are ever in Northern Illinois its worth a trip to go visit

Starved Rock state park :

http://www.starvedrocklodge.com/dine.html

If you go, make sure to have breakfast or lunch in the dining room.

There you will see a dozen beautiful Indian rugs hung on the walls.

One of my favorite pastimes is to "find the flaw" in every Indian rug

on the walls of this beautiful lodge. You see, most Indian tribes

considered it an offense to god to make something that was perfect.

So now you know, it may just be, that the frame builder that puts file

marks on the frameset might be doing it out of respect for his maker

... :-) :-) :-)

As a kid in Chicago we used to go to Starved Rock State Park - what a flashback.

As for flaws in the rugs - I also remember that. You had to really look hard to find the flaws.

However, on the Nagasawa frame pictures - finding the flaws was easy. The ones I found were on the fork crown, head lug and seat lug. The flaws should be harder to find.

Regards,

Bruce Gordon
