Subject: [CR]Oscars: Top five

1. My steel and titanium beam bike that I left on a freeway near downtown San Diego in 2002.

2. A 1960 Schwinn with suicide-shifter, original and restored, like a CR member from Texas I think posted many moons ago.

3. A brand new KOF bike with my choice of the latest Campagnolo or Shimano group, sized on the tall side with level top tube, so that the seat post/stem quill showing mirrors the bygone era and/or Japanese seatpost to framesize ratio, to be determined. Frame made by Joe Starck with Tru-Temper Platinum OX tubing and Henry James lugs, modified so that the only area recognized as HJ would be the binder, but that's OK, cuz Hank's brazing tolerances are the best in the biz. I'd use semi-vertical dropouts and build up a smooth and sexy unicrown-style fork, fillet brazed, with overlays to match the lugs. I saw an example of this from another builder?, and I've been to the mountain top and can see the possibilities of this style, so I'm up for the challenge to create my version, thanks to the mystery builder. I'd make this bke pretty becaue I'd want to go fast.

4. Anything from Art Stump

5. Something from Mercian
