I was told my Alf Hetchin's many moons ago that when Piet Van Kempen rode for them in the 1930's London Sixes that he insisted on either having Dunlop tubulars or your American Pye tubs fitted on his bike. These then were the two preferred makes by the top Six Day riders. Dunlops or Clement tubs were the dogs b----cks in the early 1960's. Mega bucks!
