Subject: [CR]Welding tempered Aluminum

Welding tempered Aluminum. My understanding of repairing a cracked aluminum tubing by welding is that the aluminum is tempered which is the case for most aluminum tubing. And that once you weld it you lose the temper and hence the strength. I did read that to regain the temper a Italian frame builder heated the frames to mid 90's degrees for 12 hours. I plan having a cracked aluminum rear stay welded and heating frame under by electrical bed blanket at 90 + degrees for 12 hours. If it does not work I will be back to were I was a frame that was headed for the trash bin anyways. Fork I will kept
