Just spotted a late 70's frame in my size 56 cm seat tube and top tube c-c. The frame is perfect and needs a new blue paint job and new decals (I assume they are very available). A few questions come to mind. There appears to be nothing other than slight surface scratches resulting in surface rust. The frame tubes are nice inside and the mitering work and lugs are perfect examples of frame art. The fork stays are sealed without any breather holes as are the chainstays I believe. Here are the problems: 1) this is a later model without coins in the fork crown because it is a Cinelli full sloping (worth less perhaps, but maybe prettier). 2) The rear brake is routed internally in the top tube, and even though the rubber grommets are perfect, water could have entered with this design perhaps resulting in hidden rust. 3) The bottom bracket is slotted, (How do you protect against water invasion? (Rebuild the bb every time you are caught in the rain? Other than these initial doubts, it has gorgeous craftsmanship, and would result in an eye catching and romantic ride--NO?
