There were at least two different alloy cranks called Grand Sport. One was the the 3-arm 116mm one which was on the Raleigh Competition GS. Another was a 5-arm 144mm which was essentially a slightly less finished Nuovo Record. This may have appeared on the last Raleigh Competition GS's, although I'm not sure of that. There also may have been a 5-arm 116? BCD with rings interchangeable with the mid-80's Victory/Triomphe. I've never actually seen a complete crank of this last type, but I've read that they existed. I've also bought NIP Victory/Triomphe compatible chainrings that came in a factory sleeve marked Grand Sport. Of course, this isn't proof positive that the 5-arm 116 Grand Sport existed, since Campy was known to ship new parts in packaging marked as another model, presumably to use up leftover packaging inventory.

A comment to Pete Geurds and Fredrick Yavorskys discussion:

I own two NOS C.Gran Sport cranksets with 150 mm crank length looking like the five-arm sets but with only three arms and 116 mm bcd. In fact looking like a aluminium successor to Fredericks. For these I own three chainwheels with 42, 38 and 36 teeth. I have also given my daughter a set with 170 mm cranks but otherwise the same sporting 45 and 36 teeth chainwheels. All these chainwheels have the 116 mm bcd and look like SR chainwheels, that is without the cut-outs.

BUT, I have also a few years ago traded similar cranks (170 mm) to a CR listmember that had the same kind of chainwheels as Fredericks bike, that is a big - 50t - with the smaller bcd (116 mm) and a smaller - but rather big, I don´t remember exact - attached to the big one. I don´t remember the bcd of that one, but looking at Fredericks one might wonder if it is the beginning of the 144 mm bcd?

So, both types of chainwheels existed.
