It depends on lots of things, like how much and how hard you'll ride it, Wether you're someone who breaks stuff regularly, and how comfortable you are with the bars being drilled. The first step would be to check for any cracks or deformed areas around the holes, If there are any, then it's definetly time for new bars. Once you're convinced that they're solid, there are a few tricks to feed the housing through. I feed a string through the housing, and feeds that through first. If it's difficult, you can use a vacuum cleaner to suck the thread through(close off the ends and other holes with tape) Once the thread gets through, you can pull the housing through. sometimes, you'll need something that can get inside the end of the housing to help it get around the edge of the hole. Awl, nail, needlenose pliers, almost anything like that. Other people have different methods that work well for them, so which ever way you have the tools for or feel most comfortable using will probably be best for you.

Greetings all:

The Cinelli handlebars of the 3Rensho I own are drilled for the brake cables. I asked at the LBS how to run new cables and was told I should not and that the drilling had probably weakened the bars.

Comments, please, as to yea or nay?
