By the "next bright star" I'm pretty certain he meant web sites not bicycles. Several nice Vintage bike sites have come and gone and though some had their heyday before I got interested in vintage bikes, I'm pretty sure Dale's star shines a good bit brighter than most of them did at their peak. So maybe it is time for his star to dim a bit.... or (to stretch the analogy to the breaking point), go supernova, spewing star-stuff thruout the cosmos in the form of a broad-based "network" of websites devoted to vintage cycling.

Like you Kim, I feel that Dale's site is the best... and it is the often the first site I visit. I still keep Google as my startup page but I guess CR would probably be second to that in terms of number of visits. But no matter how convenient and all-encompassing it may be, I see nothing wrong with it evolving into a "hub" with many radiating spokes. Go to CR's USA page, already you'll see several builder's names linked to their own websites rather than a dedicated page of Dale's creation (and in some cases there is both a dedicated page and a link to the builder or manufacturer). I think this is a natural step in the growth of a site whose scope has expanded beyond what many of us (and certainly Dale) ever imagined.
