I think you are correct about the BB cable guides. I noticed that my '72 does not have any holes in the small fork tangs. They are blank. So '73 is probably the first year of holes in fork crown, as a rule.
Does your example have original paint and decals? I know of 2, which are invaluable to know about when checking for what decals and braze-ons are original.
For the guys wanting to know about dating later Colnagos; things change rapidly with Colnago after 1975 and there are some notable major changes in details and graphics, and then tubing and other models. I'm sure someone on the list has an idea when these changes occur, but I only have time to get really familier with the early ones. Sorry.

From my photo collection I infer that in '72 Colnago started using brazed-on top-of-bb shifter-cable guides -- all the bikes with playing-card decals seem to use the clamp-ons.
