Hey! I *like* my "ratty Santana!" It's an ugly pinetree green, and there are some large rust chancre sores, and the cranks are covered in pits from being stored outdoors, but it has Suntour cranks and shimano derailleurs and Nitto stuff where it really matters !! The only incongruous parts were SOFA saddles with big tufts of horsehair coming out, and some worn out tires which have been replaced by the finest stuff available from Performance Bike (house brand) selling for less than $20 a pair, and the best saddle discards $15 can buy at my local bike shop.

If you can find yourself a "ratty Santana" go for it! Mine's not for sale... :-)
