I think you should be very careful if you are using a 5 or 6 speed normal width freewheel and older record cranksets with a narrow chain. A modern narrow chain may not cleanly drop onto the cogs or chainring, causing you to lose tension momentarily, which can cause a nasty spill. I'd find a Regina or Sedis personally, but I'd steer clear of something that was made specifically for 9-10 speed drivetrains. Lou Deeter, "BTDT" Orlando FL

A lot of it has to do with the freewheel you plan to use. If it in something like a 13-21 or 13-24 than any chain of the correct width will probably work. If you're using something like a 13-28, you might need a stiffer chain which would mean finding an older NOS chain like a Regina or Suntour.
