Taken from a very old book on cycle repair(England about 1910) "Cycle Lining-A cycle frame is lined or striped after the final finishing of the enamel process" So in England the term striped also applies.The pages go on to talk of several methods. Stripping with gold-size and when this is nearly dry cover with gold-leaf and dust off,is my favorate.That"s something I have to try sometime--- sam lingo,pleasanton tx
