I was thinking the same as I wrote, but as far as I recall those were strictly prototype parts. Were they ever actually seen on a production- even very limited production- bicycle?

I've seen two sets I believe (or perhaps the same set twice) offered on Ebay, and thought they'd make wonderful items for the knick-knack shelf, but they were too expensive to justify buying for that.
