I don't believe any of the early Italian built 3V had "Faliero Masi" signature decals on them however, I'd bet they were all "Alberto Masi".

Anyone else have an Italian built 3V?

Chuck;

I don't own one but I have photos of several dozen different 3V's, both American and Italian.

All the Italian 3V's have Alberto signatures, Prestige type crowns (urn-shaped crest, slotted shoulder), internal plug dropouts, and rounded sanserif MASI decals. Also rounded sanserif "MASI" cast in the lower head lug and brake bridge. Seatstay caps had the "H" shaped depression with tiny "MASI BREV" text on the high spots. "M" cutout bottom bracket. They often (but not always) have chromed drive side chainstays. Earliest one I have a date on is an '84.

The American 3V's have Faliero signatures, oval-crest crowns, Campy dropouts, and slabserif MASI decals. Also slabserif "MASI" cast in the lower head lug, seat stay caps and brake bridge. Never seen one with a chromed chainstay. "M" depression (no cutout) BB. The Team 3V's might have the crested forks but could also have aluminum or Tange. Earliest one I have is an '87.
