Speaking of Omafiets, there's a new, funky little bike shop on Milvia near University Ave in Berkeley, CA, USA, called "Omafiets". They are focusing on building basically "grandma bikes" for commuters, students. But they are glorified grandma bikes. Nice repainted track frames with fixie setups, neat baskets and racks, simple steel road frames built up with classic components, wool jerseys, neat books, cool posters. Many of you would recognize the owner. I bet many of you would also love the shop. He's moved into a space right next to a very long-standing antiques shop, and he says he's already been approached by several people with Colnagos, Eisentrauts, Masis and other vintage lightweights in their attics. (Berkeley is bike country.) Sounds like he'll be doing some restoration work as well.

Stop by if you're in town. Neat little shop.
