Another variation of the venerable Weinmann Vainqueur 999 centerpull has a guide attached to the back of the front arm. The guide is stamped "Mod. dep." and its purpose seems to be to equalize the movement between the two arms. I uploaded pictures at http://home.comcast.net/~keiko5/weinmann1.jpg and http://home.comcast.net/~keiko5/weinmann2.jpg. These brakes have double springs and "WEINMANN VAINQUEUR 999" stamped into inset part of arm (not foil label). These came off of a mid 60's Lygie.
