I'm very saddened to hear of Gary's passing. Gary and I began our correspondence about used bikes back in the 80s. I believe he was operating out of Connecticut at the time. He then moved to Ohio, then to Southern Cal, and finally to Coos Bay, Oregon. Our initial correspondence was done the old way---writing letters!! He transitioned from carrying used bikes to used bikes with new parts groups, to new bikes and new parts at clearance prices. He bought at least 20 frames from me over the years, never a problem with any of the transactions; and I can recall shipping him two boxes with two frames each at one point. We often talked about the liability issue for someone who sells used bikes as a "profession". I think that might have been what finally prompted him to sell new bikes instead. He told me that Coos Bay was his "final" move and that it was a beautiful place. I hope his last years there gave him peace. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
