Subject: [CR]FW: FS -'86 De Rosa Frame/Fork/Headset

I am offering a near NOS De Rosa frame/fork with SR headset for sale.

This is a stunning frame with gorgeous graphics, and a superlative ride. I am reluctantly selling this frame to raise funds for some other things I want to do this year.

I purchased this frame/fork/headset/bottom bracket last year in NOS condition from someone who had worked in the bike business in the 80's. Beside a few very minor nicks and blemishes, the bike was/is pristine. I built it up and rode it on 3 occasions for a total of about 100 miles. This bike is a joy to ride and view, but the reality is it is a bit large for me. I have to put the seat forward and use a short stem to ride this bike so the fit is not ideal. I can't put the seat back as far as I would like to be able to really push on the hills. It has a wonderful balance of comfort and handling characteristics.

This De Rosa model is shown on the cover of the '86 De Rosa catalog scanned on the Bulgier.net website. It is the model shown built up with SR gear with Ugo standing behind it at http://www.bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/de_rosa-86/

To see photos of the actual bike, please see my photos at http://community.webshots.com/user/rlstankus and look in folder marked '86 De Rosa. These photos were taken in early morning low light - the color is a deep candy-apple burgundy red and difficult to capture in a photo (by me). Some of the later pictures in the series gets the color pretty well as the sun starts to hit the frame. This bike is gorgeous in bright daylight.

Geometry is as follows:

ST 59.5cm

TT 58cm

ST angle 74

HT angle 74

Rake 55mm

CS 415mm

WB 1015mm

BB drop 73mm

This bike has the trademark De Rosa diamond shaped chainstays and Campy dropouts. I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have about this bike.

I am asking $700 plus $40 shipping for the frame/fork/headset and campy seat binder bolt. I can include the equally almost NOS 70-SS bottom bracket for an additional $75. This is a firm price. If there's no sale, she goes to ebay. I can deliver this frame to Cirque for no charge.

Thanks,

Roman Stankus
