Don, I think you are in error on several points here. George's NOS Sedicolor chain has tarnished after 30 years in the box. If you look at the chain link in the center of the picture you'll see it still shows its brass plating. I believe they were around in 1974 or earlier. Thevenet won the '75 TdF with one.

1975 Peugeot PX 60 with Sedicolor chain: http://home.wanadoo.nl/peugeotshow/PX60_1975.html

Your statement that Sedicolor chains weren't listed in Peugeot catalogs until 1976/77 is true as far as that goes. What you overlooked is that the Peugeot catalogs don't list brands of chains in their catalogs before 1976.

I also don't believe the Sedicolor chain had silver and black links, only the gold (brass) and black links.

The innovative Sedis Sedisport bushless chain came out in the late 1970s. All black at first, then a few years later (1980s) they added the all silver or all gold versions.

So I believe George's Sedicolor chain would be the 1974 vintage Sedis chain he's asking for, or even a Sedis Delta process black chain would be fine too. But a Sedisport would be too new.
