Subject: [CR]A Modern Nuovo Record component ??

Slightly off-topic but i cannot help myself ...

Performance bike sells a seatpost that could be considered a "modern" version of campagnolo nuovo record - minus 110 grams of weight! At our local shop they are closing these out for $10/ea. They weigh 190 grams, they are full aluminum, and they are micro-adjusting, with allen bolts below the post (no silly tools required!), and the post has a beautiful satin anodized finish. The neck is a little scary looking (the photo hides how thin it really tapers) and the only downside is the word "Forte'" on the front before the tapering starts.

This is a generic asian post offered under other product names and probably available through QBP and therefore at CR sponsor shops.

This is the first post i've seen with nonzero setback BUT YET the designers have been able to drill out the post all the way up to the lightened mounting head, hence sub-200 grams.

If campagnolo hadn't lost its way, I think this is what the nuovo record component group would be carrying in its product line today. Simple, elegant, technologically advanced, and inexpensive to boot!
