Now bear in mind that I'm speaking here from experience - but not recent experience... I would expect that, therse days, these places have modern racing bicycles but one never knows...

So the 2 shops in central Rome that I found to be fun/exciting/useful were:

Cicli Romeo, which is at Via Torino #5; it's a couple of blocks from the central train station, near the famous church Santa Maria Magiorre. (There's also a police station nearby, which we visited when the police caught the thieves who stole our LeJeune tandem - but that's another story.)

Lazzaretti (perhaps Figli Lazzaretti?), which is at Via Bergamo, #3. If I recall correctly, this place is located between the central train station and the Piazza Di Spagna (Spanish Steps).

You should be able to visit both these places and the red light district in the space of 3 or 4 hours. Best regards, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia
