There's a restaurant in the middle of a vinyard just outside of Radda in Chianti where the food is prepared by little old ladies and is pure mouth magic. There's a hotel attached so you can stay the night. I have to agree with Matteo Brandi the only route to Rome is through Tuscany although when you get there you'll wonder just what was the reason you had to leave Tuscany.
