The Super #1 (or Superbe(?), as I was told once was an alternate name) may predate the '50's listed on the CR page. My Ephgrave was represented to me as a '49, and has some lovely lug cut outs. However I don't have cut outs in the spear points, only on the sides of the lugs. A transitional style, perhaps? As for the age, I believe mine is likely a pre 1950 frame, as the seat stay caps are missing the top of the "lollipop", a trait of very old Ephgraves. Pics can be seen here.
Note that the frame was "modernized", probably in the 80's with Campy short rear drops and DT bosses. No, I didn't do it! And I've been swapping the parts to a more "retro" style too, although I probably won't get past 1972 (Suntour VXGT).

If memory serves me, and if Jerry's is the one I'm thinking of, I believe the frame Jerry mentions is illustrative of a number 1 super.
