Subject: [CR]KOF designation for component makers, too

I think that there are KOF component makers, too. Most notably Campagnolo during the Croce D'Aune and C Record period and their modern dual pivot brakes, Mavic Open Pro rims, Chris King Headsets, Thompson Elite seat posts, Phil Wood bottom brackets and certainly their high flange Track Hubs, probably their low flange road hubs, too. Maybe even Honjo hammered aluminum fenders! We seem to have little problem discussing modern Brooks saddles which embody these ideals, after all. These are parts as beautifully finished, as over engineered for quality and durability as any of the stuff "In the day". They are better than they have to be, and a joy to own. No one raises their eyebrows when they appear on KOF bikes. If frame makers can be KOF (and I certainly agree they can) can't component makers who carry on with traditional parameters of excellence be also? C'mon Dale...isn't it time to re-think this just a little? Not a mutiny, but a bit of grumbling,
