Subject: [CR]New TA chainrings

I just recently purchased a set of TA cyclotouriste chainrings to set my Richard Sachs tourer back the triple half step and granny setup I originally had. The middle chainring, 48, was different from the old stuff, with wider spider and a reinforcing ring near the bolt circle. I got the crankset together last night and compared it to my old worn set hanging on the wall. The old one seemed beefier. Sure enough, when I put a caliper on them, it turned out the old rings were 4mm. thick and the new one's all 3.5 mm. Dissapointing! And Mike Barry was telling me at my purchase that TA will be phasing out the Cyclotouriste chainrings.

Just a bit of pre Cirque' grumbling. I think I'll go for ride.
