I have often thought about having a webpage on my site on how to pack a bike for shipment, but haven't gotten around to it. I will someday, but it most likely will be a ballooner topic. However, Dale, Mr Web Guru...how about you?

Something I do when I buy an expensive bike with original paint that I want ensure it reaches me in the same condition as when it left is I send a bike shipping case (like a Ironcase, Trico, Pedalpack, etc) to the seller to pack the painted parts in, and then have them ship the wheels and other not easily destroyed parts in a cardboard box. If the whole package is really important to me, I have sent 2 hardcases in the past. Is it expensive to do it this way, yes, but still cheaper than damage.

I also have sellers take bikes to bikes shops for shipping. This way I can get on the phone with the bike shop and tell them in lingo they understand how EXACTLY the bike is to be packed.

I am about to be shipped a bike and want to send an illustrative page's URL to the shipper to make sure we agree on a safe process.

Thanks Dale
