At least some of the DuraAce bb's used tapers that were larger than Campy - which therefore kicks the arms out quite a bit if used with a Campy arm. My guess is some of these older DuraAce bb's would work well with Campy and French arms where the tapers are getting a bit weak.

Of course, the bb that is desired is for use with a triple I believe - and I don't think DuraAce ever made a triple bb. But I thought I'd chime in on this so that folks weren't confused with the DuraAce bb's in general.

Also, I don't think Phil Wood ever made a distinction about tapers in the old days - in general I think the phil tapers ran a bit larger than campy, and therefore they faked it well for the French arms. I could be dead wrong on this, as my mind gets fuzzier on this the longer I'm away from it.
