I've had Stronglight arms bottom out on a Campy taper, just like Sutherlands says they can. Perhaps the crank arm hole was enlarged a bit with use, but that could easily happen with the softer Stronglight alloy compared to Campy. I avoid that combination. JIS axles work well with Stronglight arms.

In practice none of this matters a lot. The taper-2 degrees excerpt for old Suntour Superbe which is 1.8-is the same, the length varies but that said you can mix and match pretty much at will. Some combinations will seat further in or out than others but I've never had a problem with any of them. I have Campy and Shimano-first gen Dura Ace so on topic-on Phils and GPM on Campy and Campy on Shimano and so on. Phil Brown Looking at a lot of mixed BB/crank combos in San Rafael, Calif.
