The Vintage route follows the 32 mile route...I thought it would be nicer to ride with others so they can check out our cool bikes, jerseys, etc. There is a long climb, that can be done in a double. However, for those of us that hook up at the 9:00 a.m. start, and are riding as a group, if we desire we can avoid that climb by adding another 5 miles or so of nice roads. I'll be bringing my Dave Moulton pro Criterium so look for it at the start.

Reminder: there is a terrific picnic after the events (also a 5K, a walk, etc; you can bring other family members/friends that might have an interest in those while you cycle) on the grounds of the school. The views of western NJ from there are absolutely spectacular. And, you'll have a chance to meet many of the Matheny students.

I think Ray Hominski and Dave Newhaus are coming as well, and possibly others...

> Angel Garcia announced a month or so ago that there would be a Vintage Bicycle Class/Route at this year's "Miles for Matheny" charity ride, scheduled for next Sunday, April 24th in Peapack NJ. Is anyone else planning to go? If you register online by Apr 19th you still get the $15 fee, as opposed to the $20 late fee (if I read the forms correctly). Mike Schmidt (below) is going, and I'm planning to come. Anyone else going? It was thoughtful of Angel to persuade them to add a vintage class ride, so it would be nice if we got a big turnout to support this effort to recognize vintage bikes. It looks like a worthy cause too.
