I know it is kind of fun to keep a theme - but what did the masters of France do? They mixed and matched! The best of them all, Rene Herse, shipped complete bikes with mixes of Campy and French bits all the time (probably at the request of US buyers, but it was very common). Also, from the Alex Singer shop came lovely machines in the 70's with Suntour deraillieurs! And who loved Campy hubs from what I understand? Roland Csuka who was the man behind the torch of many Singer bikes for decades. (Somewhat perplexing since Maxicar hubs over the long haul simply embarass Campy hubs - but I suppose if you love maintenance and your grease isn't too heavy, a loose ball hub gives the impression of less rolling resistance) Mike "loving my Maxicars" Kone in Boulder CO
