Subject: [CR]Photo Exhibit: Vintage Bike Workstand

You never know what'll turn up! Purchased a neat old cast iron bike workstand at the local flea market last Sunday. What a piece!

Got it from an older man who said he fixed and resold lots of used bikes in the 70's, but now mostly works on lawn mowers. Has another stand, which I did not see, that he likes better because you can easily rotate a bike 360. This one has only 3 settings for the clamps.

It's heavy! Easily adjusts and disassembles. Top of post has "ELDI" in raised letters. Presume this is the brand. Same as Eldi of pedal wrench fame? Have not found a country of origin.

Any insights on age, origin, etc. are welcome. Perhaps some of you who owned or worked in bikeshops long ago will recognize this.
