Subject: [CR]Cycles Alex Singer - Photos

Hi All:

I was able to spend a little while at Cycles Alex Singer last week and got invited to tour the shop and take photos. I thought ya'll might be interested in a look so here they are.

Sure wish I'd had more time and was fluent in French. Mssr. Csuka was a pleasure and we managed to communicate a little bit. He was involved in assembly of a bike for a Japanese customer. I didn't know it at the time but the bike that interested me the most was Ernest's daily driver and porteur bike. Thank you to Joel Metz for identifying it on his site. I was facinated by his jig which hangs from the roof until needed. Then it's lowered down onto the granite surface plate directly underneath. Any lingering resistance to getting a surface plate for my framebuilding went out the door at that point. The orange racer with fenders is georgeous. The small details of cable mangement, lighting conductors, chain whip protection and so on were marvelous. I couldn't believe that I was standing in an old school artisans shop, free to chat as much as I could manage and take photos.

I hope you enjoy the photos.
