No problem here with discussions of what things used to be called and etimology...that was not my point. I view as narrowminded attempts to pre-censor or eliminate terms.....

As far as Technomic stems go....my understanding is that some people with back conditions and lesser amounts of flexibility need such a stem to make their classic rig actually rideable--not drivel in my book.

I'm of the exact opposite opinion... I view informative posts about Technomic stems (an abomination on a vintage race bike) as drivel; explanations of what things used to be called in days gone by as very informative and actually something I'd be very interested in learning about.

But I'm willing to listen to talk of modern parts on old bikes if it will get people to ride them.
